La traducción es una ballena impaciente

Abstract

En esta conferencia se trata de acercar dos palabras que normalmente están lejos una de la otra, es decir la palabra "ballena" y la palabra "traducción". Y como si eso no fuera suficiente, se añaden dos extensiones de este acercamiento que son la frontera y la migración. La frontera y la migración han sido relacionadas frecuentemente con latraducción, la ballenasin embargo podría situar todo esto bajo luces que, me parece, no alumbraron todavía la teoría al respecto. La ballena que permite plantear el concepto del "effaconnement" (en español, el "elaborramiento", con dos "r"). Es decir el acto simultaneo de borrar y configurar, de deconstruir y reconstruir. La ballena que es también metáfora de migración puesto que antes de vivir en el agua era un animal terrestre. El hecho de que no se haya, en sus transformaciones (es decir sus elaborramientos) liberado de su pulmón hace de ella un ser que ya no es de la tierra sin todavía ser del mar. Tal como un libro traducido (es decir elaborrado) ya no es el libro del autor sin ser todavía del traductor.

This conference is about bringing together two words that are usually far from each other, namely the word "whale" and the word "translation". And as if that were not enough, two extensions of this approach are added: the border and migration. The border and the migration have been frequently related to the translation, the whale however could place all this under lights that, it seems to me, did not yet iIlumínate the theory on the matter. The whale that allows raising the concept of the "effaconnement" (in Spanish, the "elaborramiento", with two "r"). In other words, the simultaneous act of erasing and configuring, of deconstructing and reconstructing. The whale is also a metaphor of migration since before living in the water it was a terrestrial animal. The fact that it has not been, in its transformations (i.e. its "effaconnements") liberated from its lung makes it a being that is no longer from the earth, without still being from the sea. Just as a translated book is no longer the author's book, without still being the translator's book.
