Interacción y límites sociales: imaginarios en el centro comercial Megacenter

Abstract

Esta investigación cualitativa explora la construcción de imaginarios en el centro comercial Megacenter, muy frecuentado por paceños y alteños a partir del año 2015 gracias a la inauguración de una estación del teleférico en sus cercanías. El estudio revela el impacto de un centro comercial en los límites sociales e imaginarios subyacentes entre grupos histórica y socialmente distintos. Se toman en cuenta las formas de uso del espacio, las formas de interacción y los rasgos de diferenciación

This qualitative research explores the construction of imaginaries in the Megacenter shopping centre, visited by many people from La Paz and El Alto since 2015 thanks to the opening of a nearby cable car station. It takes into consideration the forms of use of space, forms of interaction and features of differentiation. The research reveals the impact of a shopping centre on the social limits and underlying imaginaries between historically and socially distinct groups
