Abstract
In a global current social and cultural context in which the concept of diversity takes central place seems to be important to ask what it does mean to put in common or been in community or also to undertand how the idea of diversity introduces new dimentions to the concept of social communication in itself. The proposal is to built a renewed etic of and for the alteridad which involves the competences for recognitizion, valoration and respect to the diversity. A hope for a survival todas seems to be linked to the idea of the renewal and recuperation of dialogue. The another, the natural presence of a diverse human been in front of us is an existential opportunity to be ourselves. The presence of the "Otro" is related directly with the capacity of recognition of our own existence. We need to go further than the Descartes idea of "Cogito Ergo Sum" ("I think, therefore I am") for a hopefully practice of "I communicate, therefore I am" as a project of understanding that the process of human communication implyes necesarily the recognition of a relation between naturally diverse actors. Diversity is the central meaning and sense of a human process of communication.
