Abstract
Commonly research on domestic violence has been associated with "traditional" paths of attacks. Recently, however, it has begun to draw attention to an unknown phenomenon: violence of sons or daughters against their parents or authority figures. Concept, prevalence, typology, explanatory models, individual and family characteristics and some gaps identified in the research about this phenomenon are explained. The ultimate purpose is to increase the interest of the academic community specializing in topics about childhood, youth, family and violence and to promote greater attention in the Spanish-speaking context on violence perpetrated by adolescents against their parents or authority figures.
