El turismo, ¿un destructor o un potenciador de la cosmovision Kallawaya?

Abstract

La cultura Kallawaya, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 2003, es uno de los exponentes culturales más representativos de Bolivia, pero por su alta fragilidad y grandes amenazas lamentablemente corre un alto riesgo de desaparecer. Ante esto, los kallawayas han apostado por el turismo biocultural como actividad estratégica para la salvaguarda de su cosmovisión. Mediante una investigación de carácter cualitativo, basada en la sistematización de experiencias, se propone mostrar cómo bajo un enfoque sostenible, consciente y biocultural el turismo puede convertirse en un potenciador de esta expresión cultural, más que en un destructor de ella.

The Kallawaya culture, declared World Heritage in 2003, is one of the most representative cultural exponents of Bolivia, but due to its high fragility and great threats, unfortunately it has a high risk of disappearing. Given this, the Kallawayas have opted for biocultural tourism as a strategic activity to safeguard their worldview. Through qualitative research based on the systematization of experiences, it is proposed to show how, under a sustainable, conscious and biocultural tourism approach, tourism can become an enhancer of this cultural expression, rather than a destroyer of it.
