Observatorios tecnológicos y accesibilidad web

Abstract

At present, the technological observatories support innovation processes through the integration of scientific-technological information sources, in the form of explicit documentary knowledge and tacit knowledge, which is usually done in a web environment, with a set of services which have allowed the participation in equal conditions of all people, beyond their physical, psychic, cultural, geographical or economic singularities. With the development of technologies, the concept of access to the web has been extended, including both the physical and virtual level, and the possibility that any person can access digital content using hardware and software tools that facilitate it. . Therefore, the present study analyzes the situation in which the accessibility of the main pages of the websites of eight Technological Observatories is found, verifying compliance with the web accessibility guidelines, established by the World Wide Web Consortium in recommendation 2.0. The evaluation was carried out using the web accessibility evaluation tool TAW and Examinator, which allows to analyze in an automatic way the difficulties of accessing the web. As a result, it was obtained that the websites analyzed did not reach an acceptable level of accessibility, due to the fact that the percentage of success of the accessibility criteria was very low. Therefore, it is recommended to make the corresponding adjustments to solve the problems that hinder web accessibility and perform periodic checks with the tool used or others that facilitate it.
