El artículo hace un análisis del proceso de intercambio cultural en la región y la narrativa historiográfica que legitimó el discurso sobre el "mestizaje idílico". Posteriormente, se examina la crisis del mestizaje asociada a los hechos del 11 de enero de 2007, la migración trasnacional y la movilidad social, con efectos para la interculturalidad cochabambina y la aparición del mestizaje conflictivo
The article undertakes an analysis of processes of cultural interchange in the region and the historiographic narrative that legitimised the discourse of "idyllic mestizaje". It goes on to examine the crisis of mestizaje associated with the events of 11 January 2007, transnational migration and social mobility, with effects upon interculturality in Cochabamba and the appearance of conflictive mestizaje.
