PROPIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS DE LA ESCALA DE ESTRÉS PERCIBIDO (PSS-14) EN ESTUDIANTES DE BACHILLERATO DE LA PROVINCIA DE TUNGURAHUA (ECUADOR)

Abstract

En la presente investigación se analizan las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala de Estrés Percibido (PSS-14) en una muestra de 1002 estudiantes de bachillerato de la provincia de Tungurahua (Ecuador). Para ello se analiza la consistencia interna y se realiza un análisis factorial exploratorio (AFE). Se concluye que la herramienta posee buenas propiedades psicométricas en la población en estudio. También se concluye que la escala muestra dos factores diferenciados y que la consistencia interna de cada factor aumenta considerablemente, hallazgos que concuerda con numerosas investigaciones a lo largo del mundo. Finalmente, y tal y como se ha encontrado en otros estudios, el ítem 12 muestra problemas.

In this research are analyzed the psychometric properties of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14) in a sample of 1002 high school students from the province of Tungurahua (Ecuador). To do this, internal consistency is analyzed and an exploratory factor analysis (AFE) is carried out. It is concluded that the tool has good psychometric properties in the study population. It is also concluded that the scale shows two differentiated factors and that the internal consistency of each factor increases considerably, findings that agree with numerous investigations throughout the world. Finally, and as has been found in other studies, item 12 shows problems.
