Transformaciones económico-organizativas de la tradición textil pewenche en el escenario neoliberal: estudio de caso de las tejedoras de la agrupación textil Aywiñ Domoche de Butalelbun, Alto Biobío, Chile

Abstract

This article analyzes the organizational-economic transformation of pewenche’s weave tradition of textile association of weavers Aywin Domoche of Butalelbun community under a neoliberal scenario. Interest on the subject comes under a previous investigation, where we were able to see several transformations of weave tradition in the territory reflected in the results, emerging concern to study this practice in the context that favors these transformations. Hence, the need to focus this study over how the neoliberal scenario influences the transformations that occurred in textile practice and how this propitiated the formulation of collective strategies of identity resistance of the community in the context of a dynamic transition between the traditional and the modern. This study was involved qualitative approach methodology and ethnographic design, in which we carry out participant observation in the territory, a focus group and semi-structured interviews with the weavers of the group. In this way, through the text, aspects of the neoliberal system and its ability to influence the ways of life of the communities are developed, deepening the economic-organizational transformations of the pewenche textile tradition, that we evidence through the exercise of thinking the textile production within the framework of different generations, making a genealogy of the practice using as mediator the oral storytelling of the weavers of the group.
