This article approaches the process of ethnogenesis or ethnic identity revitalization experienced by indigenous peoples of Lagunillas. The article analyzes their participation in a festive ritual honoring San Isidro Labrador that takes place on May 14th and 15th, and ends eight days later with a ritual named “Indigenous night”; during this ritual people dance and make offerings to the Lagoon “mother of the Indians”. This is an opportunity to show elements that differentiate and mark the ethnic identity.
