Abstract
Aging leads to morphophysiological changes in all tissues including the stomatognathic system. There is a noticeable increase in the population over 60 years, eventually morphophysiological changes occur in all tissues, including the stomatognathic system, and if the patient there is absence of teeth even more complex alterations, as the metamorphosis spread and also involves perioral tissues. Treatment planning of these patients is performed once all variables have been considered medical, psychological, dental, gerontology, geriatric and aesthetic potential, always taking into account the desire and expectations of the patients in the treatment, the type and severity needs treatment, patient's ability to manage stress, level of oral hygiene coupled with socioeconomic status, always trying these patients comprehensively. This communication is intended to call attention to clinicians seeking to isolated treatment in patients with gerontological needs.
