The subject that we are interested in developing tries to reconstruct the post-colonial financial and economical process, interrupted by circumstances outside of the productive dynamics of the region. In this article we study the part played in this context by religious brotherhoods, from the perspective of the institution’s organizational structure; as well as from the presumption that they were a major influence on the ways of agrarian production and on the character of commercial and socio-industrial exchange relations of Andean society in the 19th century.
