Abstract

El hecho de que los fundamentos del pensamiento científico moderno; esto es, la objetividad, la distancia entre lo subjetivo y lo objetivo, la causalidad lineal, la neutralidad, la formulación de leyes generales, la es-pecialización del conocimiento, estén siendo seriamente cuestionados por la crisis que experimenta la modernidad occidental; exigen pensar el mundo desde un nuevo paradigma, el de la complejidad, indicando así que si queremos un mundo mejor, debemos comenzar por pensar el mundo como una realidad pluridimensional, compleja, paradójica, cambiante, con orden y desorden, con logros y frustraciones. En la actualidad, desde finales del siglo XX emerge una época en que el pluralismo, la diversidad, el cambio, la incertidumbre, la globalización, la complejidad en todos los campos y aspectos de la cotidianidad, están a la orden del día. De igual manera, se siente cuando en la ciencia se habla de lo poli o multidisciplinario, interdisciplinario y trans-disciplinario, y cuando se declara el surgimiento de la complejidad como un nuevo paradigma frente al reduccionismo, lo disciplinario y el absolutismo.
