Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar el rol de los estereotipos en la construcción de la integración latinoamericana. Partimos de que los estereotipos no son productos solamente elaborados por la actividad cognitiva individual, son también productos sociales y colectivos y de poder dentro de una sociedad, funcionan como justificadores ideológicos, legitiman las relaciones sociales y construyen la identidad social del sujeto; por lo que su estudio no debe considerar solamente las actuales relaciones intergrupales, sino que, también debe estar familiarizado con la historia de estas relaciones.
This work aims to study the way stereotypes influence in the construction of Latin American integration. The stereotype are not only results of individual cognitive activity, are also social, collectives and power products, they function as ideological justifying, they legitimize social relations and build the social identity of the subject; so their study should not be considered only inter-group relations, butthat should also be familiar with the history of these relations.
