The present work studies the behaviour of AISI 304, AISI 329 and AISI 420 stainless steels types under erosive wear. The three materials were submit to erosive wear with two particle impact speeds and four incidence angles. The test results show that the speed influence over the erosion for each steel. The behaviour of the stainless submits to erosion wear is defined by the structure of each one and impact speed of the impact particles. For a speed of 38 m/s and a impact angle of 45o and 90o, the lowest erosion resistance is shown by the AISI 420 stainless steel type, but for 60o and 90o impact angles, the lowest erosion resistance is shown by the AISI 329 stainless steel. . For 78 m/s impact speed, the lowest erosion resistance is shown by the AISI 329 stainless steel, independently of the particles impact angle.
