HACIA EL PERFECCIONAMIENTO DE LA REPRESENTACIÓN POLÍTICA DE LAS MUJERES EN BOLIVIA

Abstract

Resumen: La representación política de las mujeres en Bolivia, actualmente, es proporcional a la cantidad de mujeres existentes con relación a los hombres. Esto se logró mediante la implementación de una política de paridad de género, en un proceso progresivo que inició en 1997. Sin embargo, esos avances son positivos únicamente en los órganos legislativos, ya que en los Ejecutivos las mujeres enfrentan similar desventaja a la que enfrentaron en los Legislativos durante el siglo pasado. Es necesario, por ello, perfeccionar esa política de equidad de género en ambos órganos de gobierno: el Legislativo y el Ejecutivo.Abstract: The political representation of women in Bolivia is currently proportional to the number of existing women in relation to men. This was achieved through the implementation of a gender parity policy, in a progressive process that began in 1997. However, these advances are only positive in the legislative bodies, since in the Executive, women face a similar disadvantage to the one they faced in the legislature during the last century. Therefore, it is necessary to perfect this gender equity policy in both government bodies: the Legislative and the Executive.
