Abstract
This paper establishes a dialogue between the thought of Michel de Certeau, Henri Lefebvre and Aymara worldview regarding the concept of "social space". The object to be studied is the city of La Paz, in which it is possible to find common ground and tension between the visions of the mentioned authors. The study material is the book Viajes por América del Sur, by Alcides D'Orbigny, Imágenes paceñas, by Jaime Saenz, and the social confrontation between military and police occurred in 2003 in the city of La Paz. Finally, the proposed dialogue will help us understand how the city of La Paz, through the encounter of various spaces, is constituted as a space in which converges of the different forces that fuel the idea of the nation.
