dc.description.abstractIn 1979 the poemary un pueblo y sus visiones was published by the venezuelan poet Jose Miguel Villarroel Paris, native of San Antonio de Maturin, Monagas state. It creates the influence exerted by the nascent and growing oil industry in the cities of Venezuela's East. The following research proposes to approach the poemary of a town and it is visions, ephasizing the relation betwen the petroleum industry and the impact and influence exerted by this industry in all the cities where it has been established, producing urban changes and social transformations in the cities.
