Abstract
The appearance of COVID-19 established the suspension of face-to-face classes in universities, which must be carried out virtually. The pandemic forced university students to migrate to this new educational modality, whose objective was to analyze the effect of the isolation conditions generated by COVID-19 on virtual communication between students. The method used was a qualitative approach of a phenomenological type. To obtain the information, the semi-structured interview technique was used, which was applied synchronously through videoconferences to five university students. The results allowed to find coincidences, such as psychological conditions, stress, financial difficulties, access to resources and lack of digital skills. The results indicated that, from the students' perception, the isolation conditions effectively reveal the loss of interest in virtual communication among university students.
