Reflexiones sobre la redistribución y el reconocimiento

Abstract

Resumen: Este artículo expone las perspectivas de las llamadas políticas de redistribución y reconocimiento, personificadas en las obras de Nancy Fraser y Axel Honneth. Aborda sus implicaciones para la teoría social, sus consecuencias políticas, así como el uso instrumental del que han sido objeto. Permite percibir la forma en que las diferentes conceptualizaciones de lo social implican reorientar la gramática de las luchas políticas y el ámbito en que actualmente se desenvuelven. Explora también, la forma en que el reconocimiento y la redistribución pueden alentar tanto posturas políticas ligadas a la defensa del statu quo, como las contrarias a este.

Abstract: This article exposes the perspectives of the so-called redistribution and recognition policies, personified in the works of Nancy Fraser and Axel Honneth. It addresses its implications for social theory, its political consequences, as well as the instrumental use to which they have been subjected. It allows us to perceive the way in which the different conceptualizations of the social imply reorienting the grammar of political struggles and the sphere in which they currently operate. It also explores the way in which recognition and redistribution can encourage both political positions linked to the defense of the status quo, and those contrary to it.
