La interacción maestro alumno: el intercambio de roles y el destinatario colectivo en DRN de Lucrecio

Abstract

Con el presente estudio nos proponemos demostrar que la persona del maestro en el poema Dererum natura de Lucrecio, puede enmarcarse en la teoria aristotelica que plantea la instauracionde valores eticos en el orador con el fin de obtener juicios favorables en una audienciadeterminada. Luego, a la luz de los enfoques linguisticos del texto como un producto polifonicoy dialogico, en el que predomina la enunciacion sobre lo enunciado, senalaremos algunas caracteristicas del discurso de Lucrecio que se corresponden con esta teoria y ayudan a verterluces acerca de la preconcepcion que el autor tiene del oyente/lector como participe de latotalidad discursiva y el alcance que espera con su obra. Este acercamiento demostrara queLucrecio instaura al personaje Memmio en su discurso como una antitesis del discipulofilosofico ideal, con la intencion de incentivar la funcion interpretativa individual del lector ydirigirlo en la consecucion de la doctrina. Teacher Student Interaction: Role Exchange and the Collective Addressee in Lucretius’ DRN Abstract In the present study we aim to show how the teacher´s persona in Lucretius´ poem De rerumnatura, can be framed within the Aristotelian theory that contemplates the instauration of ethicalvalues in the speaker in order to obtain favorable judgments from a given audience. Then, inregard of the linguistic view of a text as a polyphonic and dialogical product where theenunciation is prime over the enunciated, we’ll point out some characteristics in Lucretius’speech that correspond to this theory and will help us throw some lights on the preconceptionthis author creates about his audience prior to the literary creation itself, as well as on the scopeof his poem. This approach will prove that Lucretius establishes the character Memmius alongthe speech as the antithesis of the ideal philosophical disciple to encourage the reader in thefulfillment of his individual interpretative labor, so he’ll be able to accomplish the success of the doctrine.
