Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a multifactorial syndrome of pathological origin characterized by the occurrence of repeated obstruction of the upper airways due to the over-relaxation of the soft tissues, the muscles of the tongue and soft palate, producing the narrowness of the road to hit the back wall of the throat, blocking the airway and results in snoring by forcing its inlet during inspiration and this the most obvious manifestation of OSA. Currently, the use of intraoral devices for the treatment of obstructive apnea have been implemented, those manage a change of the mandibular position favoring the opening of the airways and constitute an excellent alternative to conventional therapy including surgical and special appliances positive pressure. The aim of this study was to describe a case on alternative treatment for OSA. A prefabricated mandibular advancement device of SnoreMeds® house was used and was individualized to a 57-years old female patient diagnosed with OSA presenting snoring, daytime sleepiness and morning headaches. Weekly clinic visits were conducted during the first, third and sixth months to check device conditions and lack of complications, reaching snoring better condition and sleep deprivation.
