Sistema de Gestión de la Calidad en un departamento de Ciencia e Innovación de una universidad médica cubana

Abstract

Quality in higher education is an important aspect that receives more and more attention due to the growing demands derived from a constantly changing social context. The quality management of educational organizations is the way to improve performance and comply with the requirements established externally by the university evaluation and accreditation processes. The objective of this work was to illustrate a procedure for the development of a Quality Management System in a department of Science and Technological Innovation of a Cuban medical university. A non-experimental study was developed; For this, the quality guidelines established by the quality standard NC ISO 9001: 2015 were taken as a reference; A four-stage procedure was proposed to develop the Quality Management System. The procedure presented, in addition to aligning with NC ISO 9001: 2015, has points in common with proposals for the implementation of Quality Management Systems in different environments; but the department studied is contextualized through the documents, practices, methods and work procedures generated in the management of the university's research and innovation processes.
