This article aims to expose the damages caused to the Museum of Baghdad during the Iraq' war of 2003, within the framework of the serious damages suffered by the historical cultural h eritage in many other places in this country during the days of such armed conflict. For this, not only is exposed what the wealth of this heritage consists of and the damages inflicted on it, whose maximum symbol was the looting and destruction caused to the Museum of Baghdad , but also the causes of such unfortunate events, both those of the sphere internal as those belonging to areas outside this country. Finally, the effects produced are exposed, among them, the global repercussion that such damages had, as well as the efforts made to minimize them.
