Abstract
Based on the recent findings (2012 and 2013) of individuals of Scaevola plumieri (L.) Vahl and S. sericea Vahl species, belonging to Goodeniaceae family, by the first
time we reported the presence of both species in the Managed Resource Protected Area Peninsula de Guanahacabibes; findings are documented and some aspects of the observed distribution to date of both species in the peninsula are analyzed and discussed, providing criteria about the dispersion of the distribution scheme that is shaped for them in Guanahacabibes; this allowed to infer some aspects that can contribute to understand the natural history of the invasion of S. sericea in the territory, which is showing a faster and wider dissemination; about it we recommend actions for the control and management of this invasive alien species as new aspects to be considered in the Management Plan.
