Reformado seco de metano sobre Ni-Co soportado mediante impregnación sobre nanopartículas de MgO

Abstract

Dry Methane reforming reaction was performed at high space velocity over catalysts containing Ni and Co and Ni-Co bimetallic phases supported on MgO nanoparticles, synthesized by a novel preparation method by calcination of a Mg(OH)2 alcohol-gel. The metal phases were added by impregnation with Co and Ni nitrates, with a constant metal loading of 7 wt%. The catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction, SEM-EDX, N2 adsorption and hydrogen chemisorption techniques. An increase in the catalytic activity and selectivity to H2 were observed incorporating Co. Key words: Methane reforming, Ni, MgO nanocrystals, synthesis gas production.
