Abstract
En este artículo se describe el uso de la lengua castellana en el hebdomadario El Cosmopolita Ilustrado y se analizan las peculiaridades en los niveles lingüísticos (ortografía, morfosintaxis, léxico, pragmática, modos del discurso) de los textos producidos por la redacción del semanario, como un ejemplo del uso de la lengua castellana en Santa Cruz de la Sierra en el contexto de la cultura letrada de finales del siglo XIX
This article describes the use of Spanish language in the weekly publication of El Cosmopolita Ilustrado (The Illustrated Cosmopolitan). It analyzes its particularities in different linguistic levels (orthography, morphosyntax, lexicon, pragmatics, modes of discourse) of the texts produced by the editorial staff. They provide an example of the use of Spanish Santa Cruz de la Sierra-Bolivia in the context of literate cultural groups at the end of the 19th Century
