dc.description.abstractIn this paper we approach to the question of peace education in the present Colombia. There are favorable conditions on education policies but it is necessary to configure pedagogical practices for civic education. For making real peace education, it is clear that both the structure of educational institutions, and pedagogical conceptions with classroom practices must be synchronized to teach the ability to participate in social construction. We also made field work focused on basic education, sharing a methodologic way to teach democratic participation. In this point we insist that it is necessary to change the focus on investigations from conflict resolution to teaching citizen participation. In this way we contribute to the reflection on the pedagogical practices. The field work was based on self-ethnographic research in the Colegio Unidad Pedagogica to systematize the classroom methodology Proyecto Integrado de Aula, as a proposal for teaching democratic participation.
