Cambios en la política exterior de Turquía hacia Oriente Medio post-"Primavera Árabe"

Abstract

La política exterior turca experimentó grandes cambios después de la Primavera Árabe del año 2010. Antes, las relaciones de Turquía con los países vecinos, como Irak y Siria, eran positivas; éstas se basaban en una lógica realista heredada desde la caída del Imperio otomano. No obstante, Turquía comenzó a cambiar del enfoque realista al liberal y trató de moldear la política interna de otros países. Este cambio dañó su imagen de "neutral" y "modelo" que la política exterior tradicional turca no intervencionista logró en el pasado.

Turkish foreign policy underwent major changes after the "Arab Spring" of 2010. Previously, Turkish relations with neighboring countries such as Iraq and Syria were positive and were based on a realistic logic inherited since the fall of the Ottoman Empire. However, Turkey began to change the realistic approach for a liberal one and tried to shape the internal politics of other countries. This change damaged the image of "neutral" and "model" that the traditional non-interventionist Turkish foreign policy achieved in the past.
