Sistema de búsquedas de información de la Universidad de la Isla de la Juventud "Jesús Montané Oropesa"

Abstract

The development of technologies worldwide has allowed searches of information made by users have been automated, so it has improved the time to obtain results, reliability and convenience to obtain them. In the University of the Isle of Youth Jesus Montane Oropesa most of the work documents, articles, classes and other important files have been digitized, however, there is no search system. When the user needs to obtain information it is difficult to achieve a satisfactory result, and sometimes the search loses time in execution, without reaching, sometimes, find the information you need. From the existing situation, the main objective was to implement a computer application that improves the process of searching and retrieving information in the local network of the University of the Isle of Youth Jesus Montane Oropesa. The XP methodology used was developed in the analysis and design stages. Several tools were used for the development of the application, such as Django as framework, MySQL was used as a database manager and Python as a programming language. The final result is an application that provides the researcher with up-to-date information on a specific research topic, fulfilling the stated objective. In addition, metrics were applied to evaluate the efficiency, relevance and satisfaction of the user with respect to the implemented application.
