Los múltiples "rostros" del covid-19

Abstract

Desde que la prensa anunció al mundo, en diciembre de 2019, la aparición de "un virus misterioso", uno de los grandes desafíos de las organizaciones mundiales, instituciones públicas y privadas, y la propia prensa, fue representarlo visualmente para que la sociedad pueda (re)conocerlo. En este trabajo presentamos un timeline narrativo de las formas visuales en las que fue representada la enfermedad covid-19 (virus SARS-CoV-2), con el objetivo de analizar cómo los diversos "rostros" que adquirió en distintas etapas interpelaron a la sociedad que los observaba.

Since the press announced to the world in December 2019 the appearance of "a mysterious virus", one of the great challenges for world organizations, public and private institutions, and the press itself, has been to represent it visually so that society can recognize it. In this paper we present a narrative timeline of the visual forms in which the Covid-19 disease (SARS-CoV-2 virus) was represented, with the objective of analyzing how the various "faces" that it acquired in different stages questioned the society that observed them.
