Abstract
Este artículo describe el diseño y construcción de un anemómetro láser con equipos, instrumentos e insumos existentes en los laboratorios de la Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA). El anemómetro láser permite medir velocidades de fluidos, sean estos líquidos o gaseosos, sin interferir en la dinámica de estos. Su principio de funcionamiento se basa en la interferencia producida por partículas suspendidas en el fluido que dispersan la onda electromagnética proveniente de un haz láser. A pesar de las grandes limitaciones experimentales y tecnológicas propias de los laboratorios del país, el resultado fue exitoso.
The present article describes the design and construction of an laser anemometer using the equipment and instrumentation of laboratories at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA). The laser anemometer allows for the measurement of fluid speeds, liquid or gaseous, without interfering with its dynamics. Its principle of operation is based on the interference produced by particles suspended in the fluid that disperse the electromagnetic wave produced by the laser. In spite of the experimental and technological limitations of our laboratories, the result was successful.
