Biological and psychological aging are described, as well as the biological, environmental and social factors affecting aging. The biological, physiological and genetic mechanisms of cell and brain aging are described. The biological, psychological and social characteristics, causes and consequences of aging are described. Factors affecting longevity are indicated, as well as the accident risks associated to elder people. The preventive or retardant aging factors are indicated
