Análisis microestructural de implantes fracasados posterior a la regeneracion ósea con hidroxiapatita y quitosano. Presentación de un caso

Abstract

Implants are a regular and reliable therapeutic resource in the solution of clinical problems, to approach in replacing missing teeth, setting an anchor in the construction of prosthesis, creating a favorable and lasting result, realizing that the maxilla and mandible are living tissues that can not be altered during surgery. The objective of this study describes the use and the effectiveness of two regeneration materials that can be used to resolve bone defects caused by implantation failures in a case where implants were placed with atypical location. A surgery was made in order to remove implants failed and promotion of bone regeneration with hydroxyapatite and chitosan membrane barrier. The implant removed was evaluated with scanning electron microscopy and study of X-ray scattering. The radiographic results demonstrate increase of bone tissue in areas where lesions previously existed, the electronic microscopic analysis showed that the titanium alloy used was Aluminium and presence of additional components that promote osseointegration. Concluding that important levels of osseointegration are obtained and the hydroxyapatite with chitosan membrane as osteoregeneradores potentials.
