Horizontal Drilling in Mature Oil Fields

Abstract

Abstract Twenty-five wells in mature fields have been recompleted with a newly drilled horizontal leg. The experience has established a series of proven techniques for reopening, drilling, and recompletion. Additional oil recovery demonstrates economic viability of the system.
