CORRELACIÓN DE LA ACTIVIDAD SOLAR CON LOS EXPERIMENTOS NM64 Y LAGO

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan los datos correspondientes al flujo de neutrones provenientes del Sol registrados por el Monitor de Neutrones NM64, y por el experimento LAGO, que es sensible a rayos gamma. Durante este periodo (marzo-mayo, 2012) ocurrieron dos destellos solares moderados de magnitudes M8.4 (10 de marzo) y M7.9 (13 de marzo) que estuvieron en el campo de visión de Chacaltaya (La Paz, Bolivia). El análisis de datos que se presenta en este trabajo - realizado en Laboratorio de Física Cósmica de Chacaltaya - tiene por objeto estudiar el efecto de la actividad solar sobre dicho flujo de neutrones (se conoce bien la anti­correlación que existe entre la actividad solar y el flujo de neutrones cósmicos que llegan a la Tierra). Se concluye que los registros de ambos experimentos no muestran efecto alguno, mientras el análisis del flujo de partículas en ambos detectores muestra anticorrelación con las manchas solares.

We analyze the data corresponding to the neutron flux as registered by the Neutron Mon­itor NM64 which detects neutrons emitted by the Sun, and by the LAGO experiment which is sensible to gamma rays. During this period (March-May 2012) two solar bursts occurred with magnitudes M8.4 (March 10) and M7.9 (March 13) which were within the range of Mount Chacaltaya (La Paz, Bolivia). The data analysis presentad in this work (carried out in the Chacaltaya Cosmic Physics Laboratory) is aimed at studying the effect of the solar activity upon the neutron flux, for which the anticorrelation between the solar activity and the neutron flux is well known. We conclude that, while the records of both experiments do not show effects, the analysis of the partirles' flux upon both detectors show anticorrelation with the solar spots.
