A Coleção Fotográfica da Casa de Infância Doutor Elysio de Moura: Preservação e Divulgação

Abstract

The information system (IS) of the Childhood House Doctor Elysio de Moura, located in the city of Coimbra, adjacent to the Joanina Library, comprises its archive, library and museum collection (House Museum). This article aims to study and characterize the photographic collection, an integral part of its archive, as well as presenting a conservation and dissemination proposal, fundamental for its preservation. The adopted methodology is based on literature review and a case study. The results are the general description of the aforementioned collection and the identification of the photographic items deterioration pathologies. The cleaning, as well as the proper storage and conditioning were identified as urgent. Finally, a disclosure proposal is presented.
