Influencia de la porosidad sobre la resistencia del aluminio sinterizado
Abstract
The influence of porosity on the transverse rupture strength (TRS) in sintered compacts of aluminum powder was studied. Green compacts (non sintered) made previously with metallic powder of the Al-1,25%Mn-1,1%Fe alloy were used. The powder particles were classified in function of size and 50% were mixed with lubricant. The solid-state sintering was carried out. That the porosity is characterized by a structure of interlocked open pores was determined. The bigger porosity was found in the sintered compacts that initially had lubricated particles. That the transverse rupture strength is proportional inversely to the porosity was established, independently of the particles and pores characteristics. The deformation capacity (flexion) is smaller and practically of constant value in the sintered compacts with bigger porosity.
