Abstract

Based on Film Narratology this article analyzes Argentine filmmaker Lisandro Alonso’s first film La Libertad (2001), in order to describe the displacement of the subject of enunciation and the subject of the story along the triple articulation of the present time or duration. This articulation hinges on two comunicative levels: the intrinsic and the extrinsic narrativity articulated at the deigetic level. Considering that at the time of the screening the present is in fact realized as primary structure, I examine the strategies deployed by the Argentine filmmaker regarding the connection between the different present time structures and the implied challenge, which by the way, allows author to present his views on the specificity of cinema.
