Bioecology of Cyclocephala cubana Chap. in lab condictions

dc.description.abstractThe research was carried out in the Laboratory of Entomology of the University of Ciego de Ávila in the period between May 2003 and January 2004. Adults of the Order Coleoptera, family Scarabaeidae species Cyclocephala cubana Chap. were collected during the dispersion flight of the scarabs associated to the pineapple agroecosistem of Ciego de Ávila. Biological particularities and the duration of the states cycle of were determined under semicontrolled conditions according to Grillo, 2003. Under semicontrolled conditions the species Cyclocephala cubana Chap. had a period of pre oviposition of 8-10 days; embryonic of 10-14; stage L1 9-31, and stage L2 of 8-22 days. The fecundity, fertility, appearance, and mortality of this species was 98, 100, 100 and 20 percent respectively.
