De servir y devolver pueden contrarrestar el menosprecio y promover la autonomía y subjetividad en niños y niñas

Abstract

This article reflects on the practices of contempt in educational contexts and their implications for fostering autonomy and subjectivity in both boys and girls. In this regard, this analysis also contributes to the research titled “Serving and returning can counteract contempt and promote autonomy and subjectivity in boys and girls,” conducted in two schools—one rural and one urban—affiliated with the Normal Higher Education Institution of Neiva, Colombia, a region affected by violence and armed conflict. Hermeneutical research serves as the methodological framework for this article, enabling a deeper understanding of belittling practices and serve-and-return interactions in education. It concludes that raising awareness within the educational community about the significance of promoting positive interactions is essential to prevent situations of exclusion and discrimination.
