Abstract

Combination syndrome in relation to inadequate dentures In order to determine the prevalence of combination syndrome in patients from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Los Andes and its relation to different factors, a descriptive, correlational and field study. This included clinical and radiographic evaluation of 119 patients with prosthetic needs. Only 13 had a total prosthesis top opposite a partially edentulous mandible. The lower jaw with a number of remaining teeth, between six and eight, located in the front. The data were statistically calculated using chi square and student t regression and correlation analysis, a statistical significance level at 0.05. A prevalence of 30.77 % Combination syndrome in the period May to September 2013, and a direct relationship between the diagnosis and the presence of a set of hazards of inadequate oral rehabilitation (p < 0.01) conditions was found.
