Abstract
Economic development and plain development are not equal terms. Discussing about human development or sustainable development is impossible when we identify this kind of development exclusively with the accumulation of capital. During de twentieth century Latin America has applied a specific strain of the capitalist economic model that lasts until our days, this generates the depredation of nature and the widening of the inequality gap. The present investigation looks to explore some of the alternatives that are being presented for the modification of this model.
