Abstract

Resumen El estudio se baso en medir el caudal de La Mucuy Alta por medio del aforo quimico, por tratarse de un rio de montana, determinando los cloruros presentes en las muestras de agua a traves del metodo argentometrico. La curva de caudales se ajusto a lo largo de siete puntos. Matematicamente, fue posible la correlacion entre las dos subcuencas en estudio, donde se pudo comprobar una clara relacion entre el caudal correspondiente a cada subcuenca con respecto al caudal total. Fi-nalmente, se estudiaron las caracteristicas de estabilidad del rio: para un caudal de 2.999 m3/s, el rio tiene una pendiente estable del 0.43 %, a la que corresponde un ancho estable de 4.06 m y una profundidad de 0.52 m, aproximadamente. Los resultados muestran que, existe una gran diferencia entre la pendiente fisica y la pendiente estable, indicando que, el rio buscara la estabilidad, formando meandros, a fin de reducir su pendiente. Abstract The study was based on measuring the flow of La Mucuy Alta by means of chemical measurement, because it is a mountain river, determining the chlorides present in the water samples through argentometric method. The flow curve was adjusted along seven points. Mathematically, it was possible the correlation the two sub-basins under study, where it was checked a clear relationship between the flow corresponding to each sub-basin with respect to the total flow. Lastly, were studied the stability characteristics of the river: for a flow of 105.908 ft3/s, the river has a stable slope of 0.43%, to which corresponds a stable width of 13.32 ft and a depth of 1.706 ft, about. The results shows that, there is a large difference between the phys-ical slope and the stable slope, indicating that, the river will seek stability, forming meanders, in order to reduce its slope.
