A panel spatial approach is adopted to analyze the convergence hypothesis for Bolivia’s\nregional GDP for the period 1988-2011. Two conclusions emerge from our results. First, the\nspeed of convergence to the steady state for the departments of Bolivia fluctuates around 4%\nto 7%. Second, we could not find statistical evidence of spatial dependence, put another way,\nthe speed of convergence of a department does not appear to be affected by the GDP of its\nneighbors. Additionally our results are robust to different econometric specifications.
