Cancer is a disease that has a strong emotional impact on people who suffer from it. For this reason, the objective of this research is to characterize the coping strategies used by women with a diagnosis of cancer in a treatable state in the Oncology department of the Caja Nacional de Salud Hospital during the year 2023. To carry out this research, a qualitative methodology was used. The research approach was non-experimental, descriptive and interpretive. Individual semi-structured interviews were carried out as a data collection method. The results obtained revealed that the coping strategies most used by cancer patients are spiritual strategies and perceived social support. That is, those patients who make greater use of spiritual strategies or perceive greater social support have a better ability to cope with the diagnosis of cancer.
