20 AÑOS DE PSICOLOGÍA EN LAS UNIVERSIDADES PRIVADAS DE BOLIVIA

Abstract

La literatura sobre el desarrollo de la psicología en Bolivia es limitada y se centra principalmente en los primeros programas de psicología que existieron en los años 70. Desde su aparición hace 30 años, la Universidad Privada ha pasado a recibir y graduar más del 30% de la población universitaria del país. Este artículo presenta los distintos tipos de universidades que existen en Bolivia (Universidades Públicas Autónomas, Universidades de Régimen Especial, Universidades Privadas y Universidades Privadas adscritas al CEUB), el contexto político en el que nacen las Universidades Privadas y la oferta de carreras de psicología que surge desde ellas hace 20 años. En la medida en que la disponibilidad de información lo permite, se trata de recuperar los aportes de estas carreras y sus protagonistas. Finalmente, se presentan algunos datos sobre la matrícula de estudiantes en el sistema privado.

Literature on the development of psychology in Bolivia is limited and is centered on the first psychology programs that appeared in the 70s. 30 years ago private universities started and have grown to receive and graduate more than 30% of the university students of the country. This article presents the different types of universities that exist in Bolivia (Public Autonomous Universities, Special Regime Universities, Private Universities and Private Universities affiliated to the CEUB), the political context in which private universities were born, and the psychology training programs that started in private universities 20 years ago. The contributions of programs and people behind them are recovered to the extent that information availability permitted it. Finally, some data on the enrolment of students to private universities is presented.
