The impact of the virtual modality with respect to the face-to-face modality caused by COVID-19, according to the general assessments of ISFODOSU students in the Dominican Republic, was evaluated through a descriptive and correlational field study. A survey was applied to a non-random sample of 134 students enrolled in the institution during the period May - August 2020. The research showed that in virtual education in times of pandemic the emotional factor affects the teaching-learning process, students face the lack of technological resources, the lack of suitable conditions at home for academic tasks and overload of curricular activities, demanding from the student technological skills, commitment and dedication in their education.
