Abstract

Summary. The study of more than 3.000 High-Landers and 2.000 Low-Landers in Bolivia shows that the prevalence of the ischemic heart disease is very low. The congenital heart diseases seem less frequent than observed in other studies. The EKG of High-Landers suggest right ventricular predominance lasting more in man than in woman. The acclimatization in Low Land shows a quick rotation of QRS axis and a decrease of the right ventricular.
