Abstract
El cauchi es una planta forrajera que presenta un buen contenido de nutrientes, especialmente en cuanto se refiere a la proteína, encontrándose también buenas cantidades de fósforo y calcio. Este forraje se presenta como una alternativa para la alimentación del ganado del lugar en la época de invierno, ya que se encuentra siempre verde durante todo el año; además, por ser una planta con alto contenido de agua, es un buen forraje para praderas con poca disponibilidad de ella.
Cauchi is a foraging plant which contains enough nutrients, specially protein, but we can also find in it good quantities of phosphorus and calcium. This forage shows itself as an alternative for local cattle feeding during the dry winter season since it is found green during the whole year. Also, because it is a plant with high water contents, it is a good forage for prairies with a low water availability.
